First, don't glance at your powerpoint as if you're turning your back on your audience when giving a presentation. You can simply glance at your laptop and direct your gaze directly at your audience.
CONNECTION TO YOUR AUDIENCE IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! How would you persuade people to pay attention to you if you, the presenter, are unable to give your audience your whole attention and focus?
Second, keep your keywords to a minimum on your slides. You are not need to include every single word of your presentation as if you were reading a script. It's beneficial for the audience to have something to discover with your facts, since this will pique their interest in learning more.
Putting every phrase on your ppt will no longer pique your audience's interest.
Third, don't READ every single word on your presentation. This is an emphatic NO. YOU'RE GIVING A PRESENTATION, NOT A READING! Your audience has the ability to READ. Do not read it to them again.
