Create dependent drop down lists in Excel to select items based on another list selection. Drop-down lists are very common in the web world and you can also create it easily in Excel. In this video, I will show you how to create a dependent drop-down list in Excel (also known as a conditional drop-down list).
What is a Dependent Drop-down List in Excel?
While a drop down list allows you select an item from a list, a dependent drop-down list allows you to change the items in a drop down based on what you have already selected.
Here is simple example. You have two drop down lists with the first one showing States and the second one showing Dist cities. cities dropdown indirectly depend on States dropdown. when You select the Rajasthan from country list, and all the cities in the Raj appear in the adjacent drop down. And when you select MP, all the cities in MP appear.
