Some decisions are not easy to make as an independent artist.
For years, Spotify has been one of the main places where people discover music. But recently I made the choice not to release my latest music there, at least for now. In this video I explain why.
This is not about attacking platforms or complaining. It’s about reflecting on what it means to create music today, how artists share their work, and what kind of relationship we want to build with our listeners.
As independent musicians, we are navigating a rapidly changing landscape. Streaming, algorithms, direct support, community… all of these shape the way music exists in the world.
So this video is simply me sharing my perspective and the reasoning behind that decision.
I’d also love to hear what you think about Spotify and streaming platforms.
How do you feel about the way music is distributed today?
