BYD led the market with 436,000 units sold, followed by Geely with nearly 178,000, and SAIC-GM-Wuling with around 116,000. Changan and Chery each topped 100,000 units. Tesla, however, saw a sharp decline—down 32% from the previous month to just over 61,000 units, its lowest level since May.
So far this year, China has moved about 12 million new energy vehicles, a 30% increase from last year, as domestic and export demand continue to climb. Automakers like Leapmotor, Xpeng, and Nio also hit record highs in October, signaling continued momentum heading into year-end.
