The song was nominated for Best Original Song at the 56th Academy Awards; Streisand's longtime friend Donna Summer performed it during the ceremonies. Jennifer Holliday also performed 'The Way He Makes Me Feel', which was also nominated for an Oscar, at the request of Streisand during the same show in 1984.
