CONTEXT: Since "Attach Files" was disabled in #general, the closest option was #mems. Someone posted a file showing their sorrow for the death of El Risitas (RIP), and the chat was generally filled with sorrow. Then a meme was posted and ruined the whole mood. We can learn two things here:
1. Don't post meme-related deaths in #memes
2. Don't disable image perms in #general
Even if you think it reduces spam, the detriments are always worse than whatever benefits you think it has. You could always just slap an anti-spam bot and call it a day. You do not need to disable image perms. The same goes for posting meme-related deaths in #memes. In their defense, there was no other channel to post it on, but the mood kill just seems wrong. And it needs to be rectified.
