SHORT SHIBA INU DESCRIPTION:
The Shiba Inu is moderately compact, being slightly longer than they are tall. Their expression is often bold, spirited, and good natured. Their gait is light, quick, and agile, with an effortless, smooth stride. The Shiba Inu’s double coat consists of a strong straight outer coat with a soft undercoat, imparting great insulation.
Your Shiba Inu may be vocal, but not with "barking," per se. They are more likely to use their patented, fairly hilarious Shiba Inu high-pitched yell/squeal. As with any dog, they can be discouraged from "barking" with proper training and exercise.
SHORT AKITA INU DESCRIPTION:
The largest of the Japanese Spitz-type breeds, the Akita, pronounced a-KEE-ta, is a powerful, solid, well-proportioned and distinctive looking dog. Strong and muscular with a flat, heavy head and strong, short muzzle, the Akita has a deep, broad chest and a level back. The dog is slightly longer than he is tall. The head is triangular shaped, broad and blunt. The stop, which is the transition area from the backskull to the muzzle, is well-defined.
Unlike most Spitz breeds, the Akita is not a typical barker, remaining quiet unless provoked. Territorial and protective, the Akita is devoted to children and will act fearlessly to safeguard them if potential danger is perceived. Otherwise, the Akita will remain calm, gentle and affectionate, displaying a relaxed and mannered temperament that many owners find pleasing. Due to its inherent intelligence, the Akita benefits from both physical and mental enrichment, serving to keep it engaged and contented in everyday life.
