Members of the ARP are known as frogmen, and their mission is comparable to that of the US Navy SEALs. The ARP is the most elite unit within the ROC Marine Corps, and the entire ROC Marine Corps is considered an elite force. Reconnaissance and underwater demolition teams are both operated by the ARP.
The ARP provides three months of training to new personnel of the Coast Guard's Special Task Unit, followed by two months with the Republic of China Military Police Special Services Company.
