In this video, we're testing an unusual but working setup: Betaflight, ExpressLRS, MAVLink, and QGroundControl. It turns out you can display a regular FPV drone on a map directly on your phone or laptop. And you don't need Crossfire, separate telemetry modems, or a complicated transition to ArduPilot.
We'll walk you through the entire process from start to finish: what hardware and firmware you'll need, how to properly configure ports in Betaflight, how to activate Telemetry Wi-Fi in ELRS Backpack, download offline maps, and get everything up and running without software clutter.
Finally, we'll do the obligatory benchtop check and first field test.
Let's go find out if it's worth it!
