The Propeller Incident (Greece, 2022): In July 2022, in Greece, a young man disembarked from a helicopter and ignored safety protocols. While attempting to take a selfie near the rear of the aircraft, he was fatally struck by the rear rotor blades.

The Bull Incident (Spain, 2015): In August 2015, in Spain, a 32-year-old man was participating in a bull run and stopped to record himself with the animals in the background. Distracted by his cell phone screen, he did not notice an approaching bull, was run over, and suffered a fatal blow.

The Traffic Incident (USA, 2014): In North Carolina, a 32-year-old woman was driving at high speed while taking a selfie and posting about the song "Happy" on social media. She crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a truck, dying at the scene.

The El Tatio Geyser Incident (Chile, 2015): In October 2015, in Chile, a 68-year-old Belgian tourist walked backwards to try to take the perfect selfie near the El Tatio geysers. She fell into a crater of boiling water and died days later from burns covering 85% of her body.

The Piave River Rock Incident (Italy, 2025): In July 2025, in the province of Belluno, Italy, a group of teenagers climbed a steep bank near the Piave River to take photos. Their weight caused a landslide, and a large slab of rock fell, fatally crushing one of the young women.
