2 Choosing and Preparing Your Photo
Second lesson - deciding on a photo to use for your digital painting, and making sure the quality is good enough for your art (high resolution, good dpi, etc.). The better the quality of the photo you start with, the better your final piece will be.
In this course, we’re going to learn the basics of becoming a digital painter on your smartphone. This is a class about creativity, not technical instruction – it’s all about unleashing your inner artist! I encourage you to ignore any doubts you have about your abilities and have fun. That’s the best way to learn!

Creating with Apps: Brushstroke
In this tutorial, you will create your first digital painting.
Once you’ve picked a photo, we’ll do a few basic adjustments (cropping, mostly), and then open up Brushstroke. I’ll explain the different options the app gives you, and you can choose the style, colour, and canvas that appeals to you the most.
Experiment, adjust the intensity of a style or colour, go back and start over – whatever you want. Once your digital painting is done, you can sign it, save it, and then share it with your friends on social media, and tell them how you did it!
