Ubuntu Basics SORTED KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS
Custom keyboard shortcuts are in Deconf as "custom-keybindings", but you cannot resort them into aphabetical order. They stay in the same order in which they were created. The same list appears in Keyboard, Shortcuts, Custom shortcuts. This screen can be brought up in 3 ways (1) type in "keyboard" in Unity, (1) click the "star" on the top/right of your screen in the panel, then System Settings, then "Keyboard" [NOTE: that is "keyboard", not "keyboard settings"] (3) you can create a custom shortcut to invoke the custom shortcuts. The command is "gnome-control-center keyboard" and you can assign any key combination -- I used Ctrl-Alt-K. I made another keyboard shortcut to open a wordprocessor file with sortable list of these same shortcuts. Shift-Ctrl-l brings up "soffice --writer Documents/customkeyboardshortcutslist.odt" I laboriously copied every command name, key combo, actual command and now that list is sortable, either by name or by letter of alphabet. It is a workable, but one of dubious utility. Nevertheless, I have found no other way to quickly bring up the list.
