Fluorescent Carbon quantum dots dropped in water
A concentrated colloidal sol of carbon quantum dots prepared in the microwave was added drop by drop into a glass cylinder filled with water and illuminated with UV light from the bottom. A range of green and blue fluorescence can be observed as they fall. Sometimes a ring or two as well.
