Multi Axis CNC Toolpath Lesson 1.1 - Importing a tool library to the cloud
Not every multi-axis part looks complex or organic in nature. The majority of multi-axis parts are actually ones that can be done on 3-axis machines but would require multiple setups and orientations on a machine. This is where 3+2 positioning makes a lot of sense. To kick off this topic we'll begin by reviewing and exploring 2 and 3-axis toolpaths before we start moving into 4 and 5-axes.

Computer Numerical Controlled machines, or CNC for short, can have a nearly endless number of options. Most machines today control tool motion in 3-axes, X, Y and Z, but can be upgraded to include a 4th or 5th axis as well, A and B. Additionally, there are many machines on the market that are already 5-axis capable.
