Hey Hey Hey, Some good news for us Orange Pi eaters, with new versions of Ubuntu or OPi OS available from a couple of awesome Github users, neither of whom are me. I just trawl the net looking for OS updates because OPi aint going to provide any for some reason! They seem to think only devs use their boards, and dont see how many of us are using them as a desktop replacement, thanks to their low power and good performance. So the links are listed below in the description. The first one is from an american guy called Julian. He has been awesome enough to make an Ubuntu image with Kernel 6.98. I have tested it and works well. I have also scanned that drive in another system with ClamAV and it didnt find anything nasty. The next image is a very fine thing indeed, a fork of joshuas image with Kernel 7 for a bunch of different machines from Lemon1151, some awesome guy from China. I have scanned the 5 Max image with ClamAV as well with nothing found, and am going to do some network monitoring with my firewall to see if there is any strange action. (Did that, nothing I saw seemed dodgy) So beware that both gents could have stuck something nasty in these. Lets hope they are just smart nice guys who enjoy helping us plebs. He has images for both Desktop and Server versions of 22.04, 24.04 and 26.04, 26 having the latest kernel. The boards are : AIO 3588L, ARMSOM AIM7/SIEGE7/W3, CYBER3588, LUBANCAT 4, NANOPC T6, NANOPI R6C/R6S. ORANGE PI 3B/5MAX/5PLUS/5PRO/5/5B/CM5, RADXA CM5/NX5/ZERO3, ROC RK3588S PC, ROCK 5/5A/5B/5BPLUS/5C/5D, TOYBRICK D0, and the TURING RK1. Hopefully your board is on there. They both include build scripts so you might be able to work something out if its not. Big thanks to these guys for doing this. Total Legends! Amiga Forever! Later lamers.....
