The 17-year-old son was a troublemaker and a thorn in everyone's side. At one point, he took his parents' car without permission and crashed it. He was charged with a crime, and his parents deliberately refused to post bail. They wanted him to spend some time in prison, purely for educational purposes, to understand what was going on.
