FNF VS Impostor: Legacy - NEW Defeat Song & Visual Update + Comparison (Old Vs New)
VS Impostor: Legacy's v1.1.0 has released, coming with a plethora of changes, additions and bugfixes to the mod. One of the new additions to the mod is the brand-new overhauled song & visuals for Defeat! For those who don't know, this is a remake of my earlier Defeat comparison video for two reasons: One is that v1.1.2 repositioned the stage for the level, and two, my original comparison video is one where I lazily mixed the two song versions together in the comparison segment instead of actually comparing them, so this video is here to rectify that! I also put in in-video commentary explaining differences between the versions!
There are a ton of new stuff here, like how Black's animations are slower or faster in certain sections of the song so that we could see Black's full animations, there are now red flashes surrounding the screen, remastered art for the skulls & dead BF head in the background, a brand-new sprite for both BF variants with new miss animations, a remastered miss selection screen with new character portraits for each miss count, a slightly-tweaked chart (thank god), and last but not least, a complete remaster of the song's instrumental by Rareblin to make it more akin to the 2023 Remaster of the song!
BF's sprites are SO much better here than in V4, since the animations in the V4 one were stagnant, he wasn't expressive enough, and his eyes were too spread out; all of which are fixed in these more expressive sprites from Legacy! There are also slight changes in BF's vocals too, which is especially noticeable in the V3 flashback section, as it now actually resembles V3 Defeat! It's a nice touch. I do miss the heavy guitar from V4 Defeat, as it's much more toned-down in Legacy...which you can check out the differences in my V4 vs Legacy comparison segment later in the video! And last but not least, I just had to manually make the chart faster because god it was too slow for my liking...

📜 ABOUT FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN' (Algorithm Bender):
Friday Night Funkin' is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel originally created for Ludum Dare 47. Programmed by ninjamuffin99 with a soundtrack produced by Kawai Sprite and artwork created by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r, the game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on Itch.io. The plot of the game centres around Boyfriend trying to hook up with Girlfriend, but her ex-rockstar father Daddy Dearest doesn't approve of him. It's up to Boyfriend to rap battle his way through him and anyone else that stands in his way so that he can finally get freaky! Think you got what it takes? Friday Night Funkin' is an ongoing project that will continue to receive updates, bug fixes and new content. A full version of the game is currently in development, having been successfully funded via a Kickstarter campaign. The game is also open source to allow users to mod or simply look through its assets.
