How to update FortiGate offline.

Complete Guide: Offline FortiGate Firmware & AV Database Update (GUI + CLI Methods)
Downloading the Update File:
Go to: https://support.fortinet.com
Log in with your Fortinet account
Navigate to the Firmware or Definitions section
Download the correct update file for your device model and current firmware version .
If you are not able to access Fortinet website, the Teachmemax website has provided you with the latest firmware version 7.4 some fortigate models. Go to Teachmemax.com – download – Fortinet – Firmware and select correct model.
Prepare TFTP server:
Download the latest version from the teachmemax.com . Download- Softwares
2. Run the installer (exe file) and follow the setup wizard.
2. Configuration
Launch TFTP Pumpkin
Update firmware:
1: GUI Update Method :
Step 1: Uploading New Firmware
1. Access your FortiGate GUI (https://FortiGate-IP)
2. Navigate to System Firmware Image Upload**
3. Select and upload your firmware file
4. Click Upgrade and confirm reboot*

Updating via CLI (CMD)
To update via CLI, place the update file on a TFTP or FTP server accessible from the FortiGate.
1. Connect to the FortiGate via SSH or through the console
2. Use the following command to begin the update:
execute restore image tftp filename.out TFTP server IP
3. FortiGate will verify the image file and proceed with the upgrade

In some cases, TFTP may not be allowed due to the large file size. In this case, FTP software should be used. Xlight FTP Server software is recommended. You can download it from teachmemax.com in the Download-Softwares section.
After placing the firmware file in FTP, we use the following command:
execute restore image ftp filename.out FTP server IP

Updating Antivirus Database
Download the latest version from the teachmemax.com . Download- Fortinet – Last Definition Update
AV Database Update via CLI
1. Upload AV database: place database definition file to root tftp directory.

2. Open Fortigate bash

3. Run command :

For antivirus :
execute restore av database tftp filename server-ip
After completing the steps, make sure the update was completed correctly:
get system status | grep "Virus-DB"
For Mobile Maleware :
execute restore av database tftp filename server-ip
Verify update :
get system status | grep "AV AI/ML"
For IPS :
execute restore ips tftp filename server-ip
Verify update :
get system status | grep "IPS"
For Application :
execute restore ips tftp filename server-ip
Verify update :
get system status | grep "APP"
For Internet Service :
execute restore other-objects tftp filename server-ip
for Internet Service if get large file error use ftp :
execute restore ips ftp filename server-ip
Verify update :
get system status
