PRAYER TO THE JUST JUDGE FOR PROTECTION FROM ENEMIES, EVIL, AND DANGERS
Divine and Just Judge of the living and the dead,
eternal sun of justice,
incarnated in the chaste womb of the Virgin Mary
for the salvation of humankind.
Just Judge, creator of heaven and earth
and who died on the cross for love of me.
You, who were wrapped in a shroud
and placed in a tomb
from which you rose on the third day,
victor over death and hell.
Just and Divine Judge, hear my supplications,
attend to my pleas,
listen to my petitions and grant them a favorable response.
Your commanding voice calmed the storms,
healed the sick and raised the dead,
like Lazarus and the widow of Nain's son.
The power of your voice put demons to flight,
casting them out of the bodies of the possessed,
and gave sight to the blind, speech to the mute,
hearing to the deaf, and forgiveness to sinners,
like Mary Magdalene and the paralytic at the pool.
You made yourself invisible to your enemies;
at your voice those who came to arrest you retreated, falling to the ground in the garden;
and when you breathed your last on the Cross,
at your powerful voice the heavens trembled.
You opened the prison for Peter
and led him out unseen by Herod's guards.
You saved Dismas and forgave the adulteress.
I beseech you, Just Judge,
deliver me from all my enemies, visible and invisible:
May the Holy Shroud in which you were wrapped cover me,
may your sacred shadow hide me,
may the veil that covered your eyes blind those who persecute me
and those who wish me harm,
may they have eyes and not see me,
feet and not reach me,
hands and not touch me,
ears and not hear me,
tongues and not accuse me,
and may their lips be silenced in the courts
when they try to harm me.
O Jesus Christ, Just and Divine Judge!
favor me in all kinds of anguish and affliction,
risks and commitments,
and grant that when I invoke You
and acclaim the power of Your mighty and holy voice,
calling upon You for my aid,
prisons may open,
chains and bonds may break,
shackles and bars may shatter,
knives may bend,
and every weapon raised against me may be blunted and rendered useless.
May no horse overtake me,
nor spies see me, nor find me.
May Your blood bathe me, Your mantle cover me,
Your hand bless me, Your power conceal me,
Your cross defend me and be my shield in life
and at the hour of my death.
O Just Judge, Son of the Eternal Father,
who with Him and with the Holy Spirit
are one true God!
O Divine Word made flesh!
I beseech you to cover me
with the mantle of the Most Holy Trinity
so that, freed from all dangers,
I may glorify your Holy Name.
