1888 White VS II Treadle Sewing Machine Preservation
A short video of pictures start to finish of my 1888 White VS II machine. I like to preserve over restoring, retaining as much of originality as possible. In short, I took an orphaned machine head and an orphaned period correct treadle cabinet and base. I disassembled the machine, deep cleaned it, corrected the Shellac, cleaned and polished the jewelry, the reassembled the machine, timed and tested it. The on the cabinet I cleaned and moisturized the wood getting rid of years of grime and brining the wood back to it's luster before Shellac preservation on the cabinet. And finally, putting the two together making it as one, just like it would've been from the factory. Only keeping the scars of life on both as they tell it's story.
