Format painter is a tool in ms word for applying formatting contains font, font size, color, shading, effects, border etc. of one text or graphic content to another text or graphic content. More simply format painter copies the formatting of one object and it could be pasted that formatting on another object. If several contents have same sort of formatting, after formatting only one content, other contents could be formatted by format painter. That is why it is a time saving tool in ms word. You will find the format painter at the top left corner in home tab. You can use the format painter by clicking on that or you can use the shortcut key. For copying the formatting press CONTROL+SHIFT+C and for pasting that formatting press CONTROL+SHIFT+V. Hopefully this video will help you to get to know the magic of format painter in ms word.
