How to make your dog STOP DIGGING up the yard
Dogs have a natural instinct to dig. But if your pup is turning your yard into a minefield, it can be frustrating. The good news is that there are several proven techniques to stop your dog digging:
Create a designated digging area for your dog. Choose a spot in your yard where you don't mind your dog digging, and encourage them to dig there by burying toys or treats. Make sure to praise your dog when they use the designated area.
Next, provide plenty of exercises and mental stimulation. A tired dog is less likely to dig.
If your dog is digging out of boredom or anxiety, consider crate training or creating a safe and comfortable indoor space for them.
You can also try using a deterrent such as cayenne pepper or citrus scents. Sprinkle the deterrent around the areas your dog likes to dig, or spray it directly on the ground. These scents are unpleasant for dogs and may discourage them from digging.
With patience and consistency, you can help your dog stop digging up your yard and enjoy a beautiful outdoor space together.
