Heroes of the Storm - Location Hotkey Tutorial
As an ex Starcraft 2 player, I can say with certainty that speeding up my mechanics through the use of hotkeys was the single most valuable step I took to improve my play. After starting as a lowly silver Zerg, hotkeying my production, creep line and hatcheries for quick injects allowed me to sharpen up my efficiency and simply overwhelm my opponents through superior macro. I blasted all the way from Silver to Diamond.
Heroes of the Storm may not be as heavy in terms of macro compared to Starcraft, but anyone who has played Abathur or Lost Vikings knows that map awareness is an essential skill to master in order to effectively play global heroes. Good map awareness also can help guard you against ganks when you are given a solo-lane role, or on smaller maps like Tomb of the Spider Queen. Checking the other lanes briefly when you have a breather in yours can help you predict if there will be a gank in the near future. (your ally is low on HP or mana and will be backing soon, leaving his lane opponent time to roam and gank you for example)
