Pathfinder Solutions | Q57 | Build up your Understanding | Topic: Newton's laws of motion
Welcome to our Advanced Problems Series.
The problem discussed is from the book 'Pathfinder for Olympiads and JEE Advanced Physics'
Chapter: Newton's laws of motion Q57
Section: Build up Your Understanding
Problem Statement:
Consider a hollow cylinder of radius r fixed in a laboratory with its axis horizontal. A small block is placed inside the cylinder as shown in the figure. Coefficient of friction between the block and the inner surface of the cylinder is u. Find the angular velocity at which if the cylinder is rotated about its axis, the block does not slide. Acceleration due to gravity is g.
