In this piano tutorial, I show you how you can start playing some funk rhythms on the piano. I'm using a chord progression which you can learn here: • Funky Chord Progression EXPLAINED!
When playing funk, it's all about the rhythm. The key to is being completely aware of and locked into the 16th notes.
You must be feeling those subdivisions and they will then come across in your playing. Practicing singing it, drumming it and playing it.
It's important to also be aware of the dynamics of each beat. Some should be ghost notes and others should be accented.
