You start by simply taking a picture of the document, uploading a pdf file, or otherwise entering the document into the system. This document is then sent to our servers, where we convert the image into text. Next, we have a three-step process:
First, we have the classification step; we quickly check and classify the document on multiple aspects like document type (invoice, receipt, ID document, contract, license plate, etc.), language, and country of origin. This makes the data extraction easier because the system knows what to expect.
Second, the actual data parsing or data extraction happens. Depending on your requirements, we can extract all kinds of data from the document like line items, addresses, total amounts, VAT items, and many more.
Lastly, we convert all this information into a structured output, for example, a JSON or SVG file. Or the data can directly be processed in your accounting system.
Next to this, it's also possible to verify or anonymise data before we send it back. We adhere to the highest security standards, so we remove both the input and the output from our servers after sending the results back to your database.
While this may seem like an extensive process, processing your document doesn't take longer than 5 seconds.
