📍 Andrew Palmer from Bertha. ai, really excited to announce that Bertha. ai now has alternative text in bulk directly from the media library. So if you have an image like this, it's beautiful. How do you describe that? How much time do you need to be able to explain the alternative text on this? It's got daisies, mountains, sunset, grays, blues, oranges.
So what do we do? So we go back to the library. After we've installed Bertha and it's the pro version only that has, uh, the alternative text in bulk. The free version does allow you to have alternative text as well. As long as you upload the image directly to the media library. Now, if you have images in your media library, like I do, that don't have alternative text, then this is the way to go.
So all I have to do is I have to select. All of them and then I go alt text generate and apply and wait patiently for Bertha to do her job
There we are alt text added for nine media items now I've only got a nine in there, but you may have a hundred a thousand or however many but we are limiting Bertha AI alt text generation in the media library bulk To ten images at a time because it can take a little bit of time and you don't want to wait that long I get it So let's have a look, see what Bertha's come up with.
Right, so, where are we? Right, okay. Sunset view from a mountaintop with a foreground of white wildflowers, overlooking a valley with layers of hills in the distance, under a sky painted with hues of orange and blue. Pretty accurate, right? Let's go back and see what's happened to another couple of images.
Right, so we've got a lovely person swimming in a swimming pool. Let's have a look. A person swimming underwater in clear shallow water. over a sandy sea floor. Now you can always amend these if you want to make your, uh, alternative text even more descriptive, but this is a great head start. I think you'll agree.
Now, I've loaded up a picture here, which has got a montage. Now, how do you describe a montage? Now this has got a guy in the left, girl in the middle, chess set, a whole load of things. Whatever, and an asset manager as well. Collage of five images including a businessman holding a folder outdoors, a businesswoman working on a laptop, a chess king and queen on a board, the words asset management on a digital interface with various icons, and a laptop with a notepad and glasses on the desk.
I think people with accessibility issues around photographs, images, etc. I'm going to love you for using Bertha AI. I think you might agree that this is an astounding addition to Bertha Pro. It's 20 a month, 200 a year, and there is a lifetime, uh, offer on the Bertha homepage as well, if you'd like to take it up now, I want you to support us.
So if you pay for Bertha that supports us and that allows us to bring out brilliant things like this. This is also coming to Chrome. So you'll be able to describe any image within Chrome. So whether you're using another website building bit of software or a proprietary bit of software like Shopify, this is going to work wonders for describing your products.
And I'm going to show you now how it goes around describing products. Now imagine you're doing a promotion or a blog post on somebody's products and it could be clothing or shoes. In this case, it's a couple, uh, one pair of shoes. So I'm just going to actually paste that image, uh, within the blog post and there it is.
So I've just pasted that in so that can go into the media file automatically, saves me a lot of hassle and Bertha will still write the alternative text for you even though I've just pasted the image in. And there you go a pair of brown leather brogue shoes with Intricate perforations placed on the top of a white box with the text bird handcrafted England so we can change that to actually bill bird That will probably make them very pleased on its side bathed in soft sunlight How's that how would you even imagine coming up with the description as good as that in seconds?
I really can't think of a better reason for getting Bertha right now
