Quail are getting attacked. Aggressive breeding behavior!
Finding some of my hens were scalped and I was surprised to find out it was my rooster. Sometimes you just need to cull from the flock and make sure you keep the ones that will workout best. An overly aggressive animal has no place on our property. There are plenty of roosters here to replace him. I really hope that some of this helps others.
