The Cordillera Huayhuash is one of the mountain range located in Peru. With a unsurpassed beauty and less touristy, includes seven peaks over 6000 meters.
This was our first experience at higher altitude. With adequate acclimatization, however, there is nothing to suffer, the path becomes an enrichment experience.
The circuit usually starts in Cuartelhuain, at an altitude of 4100 meters, and along the route, you reach the Paso Cacananpunta, Siulá, Cacananpunta, Cuyoc, and Yaucha, descending, finally, to the Jahuacocha Lake.
The sunrise is a spectacle apart! It is worth waking up early and watch the mountains changing color as the sun reaches them.
It is suggested to hire guides. Not only because of altitude sickness, but also to promote tourism and work in the region.
