Science in Blacksmithing is part of a series of teacher guides developed by the Centre for School and Community Science and Technology Studies (SACOST). The series identifies various indigenous Ghanaian, informal and formal industrial activities and uses them to contextualise knowledge, concepts and skills that are part of the Mathematics and Science curriculum. These manuals are intended to supplement existing Mathematics and Science Textbook and not replace them.
This particular volume on Otomfo -- the Blacksmith, should be particularly useful for teaching and learning science and technology at both the Junior and Senior High School levels.
