Getting started in home recording or recording school, can seem daunting when you look at all the tracks and waveforms. Seeing this region cover that, and big gaps between regions. You don't need to worry about losing any audio files because most of working in digital audio is non-destructive!
With the knowledge of editing, you can pull parts from multiple performances and get the perfect take!
