The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex is a 2013 American made-for-television comedy-drama fantasy film based on the Disney Channel Original Series Wizards of Waverly Place. It was directed by Victor Gonzalez and filmed primarily in Disney Studios in October and November 2012. The full cast of the series, with the exception of David Henrie starred in the film, although the character was mentioned frequently. The film focuses on the Russo family, Harper, and Mason visiting Italy for a family reunion. The film premiered on March 15, 2013 on the Disney Channel in the United States, and was rated TV-PG. The special received 5.9 million views.
The Russo family, Harper and Mason have a family reunion in Tuscany, Italy. After a talk between the family, Alex tries to prove that she is not the irresponsible wizard she used to be. She accidentally creates another Alex who is evil. Alex must then save her family and mankind from evil doings, leading to a literal battle of Good vs. Evil on top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Along the way, Alex meets a charming wizard named Dominic who is flirting with her and when Mason finds out, he immediately becomes jealous. Now, Dominic team up with bad Alex to take over the world. Will Alex and Mason's relationship survive- and more importantly, will Alex defeat the evil Alex?
