The CEA runs a cytogenetic laboratory implemented in the 1970’s, which specializes in the detection of chromosome aberrations, mechanisms and consequences. Application to biodosimetry has provided for more than 40 years tools for radiation dose assessment. Cytogenetics methods are useful in the case of biodosimetry (ionizing radiations), but can also be applied in different scientific fields in order to detect and quantify various genotoxic effects.
We have created a first set of 5 MOOCs to transmit the knowledge of the laboratory, they are listed below:
1/5 The Dicentric Chromosome Assay
2/5 The Cytokinesis Block Micronucleus Assay
3/5 The Premature Chromosome Condensation Assay
4/5 The Telomere and Centromere FISH staining
5/5 The multi FISH staining
