The 18th-century French cartographer de Buache was a man whose activity was, to say the least, inexplicable. He used to draw maps of lands that had never been explored, and to the surprise of explorers, when they went to Buache's areas, he had "theorized" that these lands did indeed exist.
But on one occasion, de Buache drew a very strange map of Antarctica before it was explored, in which he discovered impossible things.
