How to Use Group Managed Service Accounts Step by Step. Group Managed Service Accounts became available starting with Windows Server 2012. The awesome feature of MSAs and gMSAs is nobody knows the password. gMSAs can be shared by more than one computer, hence the name Group Managed Service Accounts. The password is managed by Active Directory so computers that are members of a group can use the service account. This video demonstrates preparing AD, using the account for the SQL service on one machine and running a scheduled task on another machine.
