Chapter 4: The Wilderness Experience | A Solo Segment Hike on the Colorado Trail
Spending time in the wilderness replenishes my soul. It grounds me with the real world. Although the Colorado Trail is a way we’ve made it more accessible, the trail still follows many old paths that herds of animal have traveled on, and we’ve followed.
This segment of my journey took me through old logging roads, and deep forest footpaths to passes above 11,000 feet, through an incredible valley with the vast views the Colorado Rockies have to offer. Wildlife is plenty here for the Rockies, with untamed moose gracing me with their presence.
The continuation of my solo journey brings me closer to nature, and more respect for it. It’s the wonder of the world I strive to experience, and capture through my lens, to share with the rest of the world. For those that dare to travel in the wild to remember their times, and for those who can’t and still want to experience the wild.
