Some people don't like to knit with double-pointed needles, others don't know how to knit in the round (yet). And in these cases, you can convert any pattern from knitting in the round to flat knitting with straight needles yourself. All you need is a little bit of paper and some patience.
You will have to mirror all stitches
mirror the knitting order
add a little selvage for seaming in later on
and perhaps adjust your gauge or the length you are knitting
It's nothing that should be done lightly. Most designers pick one way of knitting a pattern for a reason. Typically because it's easier or there are neater results. It's up to you to decide whether the pattern and your individual preference are in line with knitting this pattern on straight needles nevertheless
