We drop into episode 79 wanting to create a full song from a 2 min template we previously composed in Logic Pro X for episode 042 of the EDM Sessions. The sound we are working on is classic progressive house. The elements and synths are minimal and well representative of the genre like Sasha xpander song.
We start by building a proper introduction to this song by having minimal elements and stripping back the percussion to basic. We also create different automations to have movement and enhance the transitions. We also process and mix the synths parts as we build the intro and groove. We also add some transitional sounds effects using the alchemy synth and a large room reverb. We also add a cool vocal sample from the Logic Pro X collection, this adds dimension to the intro.
We then introduce the main bassline with a dramatic change in instrumentation. We also add automation to the main output and use an equaliser to filter the sum of the main output. This creates a dramatic transition effect. We then move on to the main part, we first add some percussion to enhance the overall groove, then we perfect the part and automations to make this main part groovy and progressive. Now we are in the main segment that features all the elements and some deep synths.
Afterward we create a simple but epic breakdown and move on to create the outro.
