In April 2019, we launched the INAV Fixed Wing Group OpenTX model. The idea was simple. Make it as easy as possible to get people in to the air. There is already a pretty steep learning curve with iNav; so why add another learning curve with OpenTX in to the mix!? The original model was very well received, and helped get people flying quickly.
Fast forward on to September 2020, and we launched the Pro OpenTX model. This took away the training wheels built in to the original model, and added in flight tuning and other features that more experience iNav pilots would find useful. Due to this model being launched, the original model was renamed the Standard OpenTX model. The main criticism we got with the Pro model, was the difference in switch positions to the Standard model. This was because we needed to use a more efficient layout, and some switches and pots could be better purposed.
So now, on the 20th of December 2020, we have the INAV Fixed Wing Group - Standard OpenTX model Version 2. This was launched during the Wing Talk celebrating the group's 2nd anniversary. One of two birthday presents. The second present may be of interest if you use a Lite transmitter.
The switch positions have been brought closer to the pro model, to make future upgrades easier.
The arming mechanism has been changed, to make switch reversal simple.
The multi-function momentary switch has been enhanced, to make use much easier.
A save reminder has been added if you use auto-tune in flight.
We have included the "Schlesinger mod", to make the model a little closer to Version 1. Hopefully this will help people migrate to Version 2 with minimal disruptions.
The sound pack has been updated and unified with the other OpenTX models. So one sound pack works for all. Plus there are extra sounds not used, to try and keep your transmitter more consistent.
I hope you enjoy using the model.
