Recently, I’ve been building a backend audio architecture to handle high-performance audio cleanup without relying on expensive SaaS platforms. Most existing solutions come packed with hardcoded limitations, low free-tier rate limits, and constant API timeouts when handling raw audio files. That's why I started developing this Node.js project, which combines both a cloud-connected AI workflow and a 100% local audio manipulation engine.

In this video, I walk through a complete crash course on how to initialize and configure this backend natively on your machine using Express and TypeScript. I also give a high-value overview of its two core systems, including a Speech-to-AI-Speech pipeline using Hugging Face and OpenAI's Whisper model, and a fast, offline Digital Signal Processing engine that converts raw tracks using Float32 array memory casting.

Instead of sticking to just one approach, this project shows you how to implement both workflows. It allows you to build out an AI transcription-and-resynthesis setup with the gTTS package, or transition entirely to a native local noise reducer using fluent-ffmpeg audio filters to strip out room static and background hums instantly for free.

If you are a builder or a developer looking to maximize your local hardware efficiency and take full control of your audio media processing environment without the unnecessary filler, this project is definitely worth checking out.
