The distance from Krasnoyarsk to Irkutsk (1,000 km) is a two-hour drive. A ticket costs the equivalent of about 1,000 rubles. It's flying taxis, it's food delivery by drones, it's 40 metro stations built in Shanghai in a year, and much, much, much more.
It's all great, it's civilization, but it's a different way of life. It's the Asian way of life. You need to understand it, you need to experience it to see if it suits you. But until you're in Asia, until you're in China, until you've experienced this Asian way of life, you don't understand, you don't even know what I'm talking about. For example, when I lived in Guangzhou, I had an 18-square-meter apartment there. 18! A two-story apartment.
But a two-story apartment isn't like you imagine, a two-story house. It's a regular single-story apartment divided into halves, with a bed on the second level, sort of under the ceiling. With a table. Where you can work on your laptop while lying down. Put your laptop down and work while lying on the bed under the ceiling. 18 square meters! That's for me, someone who, when I rented an apartment in Russia, before I had my own, used the minimum filter on Avito for one-bedroom apartments—a MINIMUM of 40 square meters. Because smaller is impossible.
