If you want to have some focused time will you minimise distractions, and you can still allow some people or apps to get access to you so supposing you’ve got a colleague and the two of you are working together on some project, and you can set up a focus, just for you and a colleague.

You can also create a lock screen for a different set of apps for people who are allowed to contact you even win that lock screen and focus are enabled.
