The DW01A is an easy-to-use battery protection IC that combines the features of overvoltage, undervoltage, and overcurrent detection in one IC that comes in a compact SOT-23-6 package. This IC needs two external MOSFETs to switch the battery current, as well as a few passive components.
The overvoltage and undervoltage thresholds are set internally, at 4.3V and 2.4V respectively, and the release thresholds are 4.1V and 3.0V respectively. The overcurrent section depends on the on-resistance of the external MOSFETs. There is also a small delay time so that the IC does not false-trigger on short current bursts. The overcurrent threshold is 150mV, measured with respect to ground.
