First of all, you mentioned that you miscarried a couple of months ago, and I want to tell you that I'm so sorry that you had to go through that, and my heart goes out to you and your family. It sounds like you have some questions now about whether or not you're pregnant after that. And you have some valid suspicions. You had unprotected intercourse and you're having symptoms of pregnancy, and I do recommend taking a home pregnancy test. That's the only way to know for sure. And if it's positive, then it's very likely that you're pregnant, and I suggest following up with your doctor. If it's negative and it's been at least 2 weeks from the time that you had unprotected intercourse, then it's pretty safe to say that you're not pregnant. However, I do recommend waiting another week and then repeating the test, and if that one is still negative, then it's probably pretty sure and reliable.
And if you have more questions and concerns about the symptoms that you're having, call your doctor. And after asking you more specific questions about how you've been feeling and what's been going on, they can decide if further investigation is necessary, based on their knowledge of your circumstances. Generally speaking, after a miscarriage, couples are advised to wait a few months before they try to conceive, but if it happened early on, sometimes a doctor will tell a patient that it's okay to try the next month or just to not use contraception. Your body can return to a fertile state very quickly. You can ovulate within just a few weeks after miscarrying, and so pregnancy definitely is possible if you had unprotected intercourse. I hope the very best for you in the future going forward, and if you have any other questions for me in the future, feel free to ask them on our Facebook page at / intermountainmoms , and recommend us to your friends and family too.
