How to make a welding hood
A good welding exhaust hood is a rare commodity. Professional exhaust hoods are quite expensive and only cost-effective for serious workshops. I looked at many DIY designs online. I took the experience of others into account and built my own.
The materials cost about 140 euros. I could have done it for 100. I started by drawing all the dimensions to understand how it would fold. Many people had problems with moving parts rubbing against the corrugated pipe. I took this into account and left the necessary clearances.
Almost all the fasteners are made of stainless steel—it doesn't react with aluminum.
