Phase 0 - mint/launch
If you’re an NFT enthusiast, then you know what minting means. If not, listen closely. Minting is when you generate an NFT. Upon generation, our program randomly chooses one attribute from a number of categories, in our case, 8 categories. These categories consist of a background, fur, pole, shirt, head piece, hand, mouth and eye attributes. The total number of all potential attributes is 165, that’s over 28 billion possible combinations! These attributes are again split into not only categories, but rarity groups. Rarity groups consist of common, uncommon, rare, legendary and mythic. The rarer the attribute, the less chance there is of minting it during the generation process. Therein lies it’s value.
When minting your sloth, attributes are not the only things assigned to your Sloth NFT. you will also gain what’s called a ‘Luck Level’. Your NFT luck points range between 1 and 100. 1 being not very lucky, and 100 being very lucky. The luck level of your Sloth comes into play during the breeding process. The luckier your Sloth, the more chance it has to produce a rare, legendary or mythic attribute to be included on their offspring.
Generation 0. The current generation is known as ‘Gen 0’. The only perk for Gen 0 is a shorter average breeding cooldown period compared to future generations. For more information and benefits of the ‘Cooldown Period’ please move on to ‘Breeding’ below.
Phase 1 - Breeding
I’m sure we all know what breeding means. When two sloths start getting hot and heavy in the bedroom, a third Sloth pops out! Just to be clear, there is no possibility of twins or triplets etc. When breeding Sloths there can only be one offspring. But being Sloths, when they're finished with this heated endeavour, they need time to rest before they can start over, which brings us to our next point.
Each Sloth NFT has its own breeding cooldown period, known as ‘Nap Time’. For example, Sloth “A” may have a two day Nap time, sloth “B” may have a one day Nap Time. You may breed them both, but the owner of Sloth “A” must wait for two days before breeding once more where the owner of Sloth “B” must wait one day etc. Once you have minted a Sloth, and a Nap Time has been randomly selected for your mint, this Nap Time will never change.
The Nap Times will differ depending on generation. The lower the generation, the lower the cooldown period. For example, our current generation “0” may have a random cooldown period between one and five days. Generation “1” may have a random cooldown period between three to eight days. Generation “2” may have a random cooldown period between six to eleven days and so on. Those numbers are not finalized.
As mentioned before, the current Gen 0 has a shorter average Nap Time than future generations will possess. This is convenient for a number of factors. Shorter Nap Times mean you may create more NFTs in a shorter space of time, NFTs of course have real world value. Shorter Nap Times also mean you can have your Sloth listed on the ‘Donor Marketplace’ more often, which in-turn means more profit gained from your NFT investment. There are two ways to breed Sloths together.
By owning two or more Sloths, you may breed two of them together without limit, depending on their cooldown period.
If you only own one Sloth, you may rent the other Sloth from the donor marketplace. (See ‘donor’ below for more information)
When breeding a new Sloth, it is important to remember that the new sloth will inherit 3 randomly chosen attributes from parent 1, and 3 from parent 2. With a total of 8 attributes on any given sloth, this leaves 2 attributes to be randomly selected from the 165 total attributes available, so there lies your chance to breed a sloth with a mythic attribute.
Being the owner of your newly bred Sloth, you now have a share of the royalties pertaining to this sloth until the end of time.
Phase 2 - Donor Marketplace
The donor marketplace is an area that gives users the ability to not only rent other Sloths for breeding, but list their own sloths for others to breed with. The Donor marketplace consists of two areas.
Rent a Sloth: If you only own one Sloth NFT and you wish to breed, then you can rent the second Sloth from the donor marketplace for a fee. Another scenario is if you wish to obtain a certain attribute, you may rent a sloth from someone who possesses this attribute for a chance to obtain it yourself.
Become a Donor: You may list your Sloth or Sloths on the donor marketplace, at a price of your choosing. The renter must pay your chosen price in order to breed with your Sloth.
