PRISON ISLAND ZANZIBAR
Join me for a wild day in Zanzibar – from jungle monkeys to turquoise water and 100-year-old giant tortoises 🐒🌿🐢🌊
We start the adventure in the national park, the wildest part of Zanzibar, where I’m “hunting” for monkeys with my camera. You’ll see red colobus monkeys (they can get very curious with people and bags 😅), learn a bit about the unique species that live only in this forest, and walk through beautiful, green jungle paths that feel almost magical.
Then we head deeper into the forest to explore a small river, watch the reflections in the water and enjoy the peaceful side of nature. After that it’s time to swap jungle vibes for ocean vibes – we go snorkeling in the insanely blue water, swimming above colorful fish and soaking in the warm tropical sea.
To finish the day, we take a boat to Prison Island, just off Stone Town. There we meet some of the island’s most famous residents – giant tortoises that are over 130 years old (one of them is said to be 194! 😱). I feed them, hang out with my “new turtle girlfriend” and we also visit the area with baby tortoises.
