Do you have a Spotify gift card or premium code to redeem, but can't find the option anywhere inside the Spotify mobile app?
You're not alone—the Spotify mobile app doesn't actually have a "redeem" button, no matter how many menus you search through. So how do you use that code you paid for?
This video reveals the workaround. Instead of using the app, you'll need to open your browser and go to spotify.com. Log into the account where you want to redeem the code, then tap the gear icon (settings) from the top right corner of the screen.
From there, navigate to "view account" and scroll down until you see the payments section. That's where the "redeem" option is hiding—not in settings, not in privacy, but in your account overview. Once you tap redeem, you can enter your premium redemption code or gift card code and hit continue.
But here's the catch that trips up many users: if you're logged into the wrong Spotify account when you redeem the code, the subscription will apply to that account with no way to transfer it. And if your code is for a different region than your account's location, it won't work at all. Watch until the end to make sure you don't accidentally waste your gift card on the wrong account.
