In Lesson 4 of the “How to Win Architectural Competitions” course, you’ll learn a practical workflow for producing architectural sections and elevations in Rayon—focused on communicating how a proposal sits within its site and responds to slope and topography. The tutorial walks through setting up model canvases for elevations and sections, creating scaled plan views, rotating/cropping with guidelines, and quickly building massing to establish heights and stepped level changes. You’ll then develop clean elevation and section linework, define floor levels (FFLs), and refine key spatial moments like the gallery, entry, and café as the building embeds into the landscape. Finally, you’ll populate drawings using the same blocks from your floor plan—switching to front/side orthographic block views for doors, windows, furniture, people, and trees—so your drawings stay accurate, consistent, and full of life. Perfect for anyone preparing competition presentation drawings, architectural graphics, or a clear baseline set before adding hatches, textures, and shadows in the next lesson.
