PT. Freeport Indonesia, located on Papua – Indonesia, is one of Freeport McMoRan Copper & Gold, Inc. (FCX) subsidiaries. Freeport McMoRan Copper & Gold, Inc. itself is located in New Orleans, Louisiana (1997)
Built in 1967, PT-FI focused on copper mining and milling. After 30 years of expanding, PT-FI operations now involves in mineral exploration and development, mining and milling of ore containing copper, gold, and silver.
In 1995, the company has also privatized its non-mining business such as ports, road maintenance, townsite maintenance, food, hospital, and accommodation services to various companies.
P&O or APPDC was the privatisation of Port Management including Cooper Concentrates Shipping operation and documentation.
All Family Status lived in Portsite Amamapare since year 1995 has been allocated to Timika Indah and Kuala Kencana.
